WONDERFUL WELLINGTON We just returned from the New Zealand Festival and we are already nostalgic! We had a packed schedule but enjoyed every minute of it. Wellington is beautiful and we met so many nice and warm people. Of course there was Gecko Press publisher Julia Marshall and her staff, Jane and Matariki who really spoiled us. We will never forget the barbecue with writer Ulf Stark, his wife Janina and also Ann Hayward and Mary McCallum! Designer Simon Waterfield, who interviewed me on stage, had great and thoughtful questions. We also had a fun chat with Marcus Chown and his wife. I’m also thankful to have met New Zealand’s national treasure Gavin Bishop, who gave a marvellous lecture about picture books. I found myself nodding and agreeing with everything he said. I had a great time talking with met local illustrators during my workshop. Hope I didn’t bore them to much! And last but not least we would like to thank the New Zealand Festival organisation  and specially Claire Mabey and Kathryn Carmody for doing such a great job. E noho rā. Kia ora!
